A two day course run by Pete Moors of the Dorset Coppice Group. A very practical hands-on weekend spent outdoors regardless of the weather, laying several types of hedge. Covering the basic health & safety, tool use, sharpening and maintenance of tools. All the methods of hedge laying you could possibly need to know. Cost: £65.00 including materials and VAT. Arne, Near Wareham, Purbeck / Introduction to Bird Watching
RSPB - Lodmoor & Radipole
The day is designed for the beginner who would like to know more abut bird watching. It will include help and advice on the best field guides and binoculars and how to use them, how to identify birds and where to go bird watching. A walk to look for some of Arne's birds and to put theory into practice will follow the indoor sessions. £10 per person drinks included. Booking essential on 01929 553360.

Brownsea Island, Poole / Waders and Red Squirrels on Brownsea
Dorset Wildlife Trust
Explore Brownsea Island and visit the internationally important colonies of visiting waders. Catch a glimpse of the elusive Red Squirrel, unique to the south of England and explore its habitat. Bring binoculars, packed lunch, warm clothing, waterproofs and suitable footwear. Boat leaves Sandbanks at 10.00am (Grid Ref: SZ871037) returning at 3pm. Numbers limited.
